Can a Hepa Vacuum Cleaner Benefit Your Health?

HEPA filters were originally developed in the 1940s and used in the Manhattan Project to prevent the spread of airborne radioactive contaminants. After the 1950s, HEPA filters were later commercialized and the term became trademarked and known as a generic term to describe any high efficient filter. Over the years, because of demands for improved air quality in various industries such as aerospace, pharmaceutical processing, and healthcare, HEPA filters became commonly used in these industries to help eliminate airborne particulates such as dust, dander, mold, and asbestos.

In order to be considered a True HEPA filter, a filter must be capable of removing at least 99.97% of particulates as small as 0.3 microns. Particles of this size are the most difficult to filter, and they are thus considered the most penetrating particle size, or MPPS. HEPA filters consist of a mat of randomly arranged fibers that target and trap small particles by one of the following three mechanisms:

1. Interception - When particulates follow a line of flow in the airstream within one radius of a fiber and sticks to it.

2. Impaction - When large particles cannot avoid the HEPA fibers and are forced to imbed in one, which also increases with diminishing fiber separation and higher air flow.

3. Diffusion - When an enhancing mechanism results from the collision with gas molecules by small particles, which are impeded and delayed through the HEPA fiber.

Therefore, because of the superior filtration abilities of HEPA filters, they are extremely effective at removing particulates from the air and from surfaces such as carpets and upholstery, and their use can help make the air we breathe significantly healthier. Because our indoor environment contains allergens, chemicals, gas, dust mites, mold, and other harmful microorganisms, the respiratory tract struggles and suffers daily from these harmful pollutants. Poor indoor air quality can also cause symptoms such as itchy eyes, headaches, digestive problems, fatigue, congestion, and many more chronic and acute diseases. In fact, studies have shown that more than every one in three adult, child, or infant suffers from allergies, asthma, or respiratory diseases, and currently, asthma is one of the leading causes of upper respiratory illnesses in children.

Today, most HEPA filters can be found in air purification systems and even vacuum cleaners. HEPA vacuum cleaners use HEPA filters as part of the filtration process, and they are extremely beneficial for asthma and allergy sufferers, as the HEPA media is able to trap the fine particles that can trigger asthma and allergy symptoms. For a HEPA filter in a vacuum cleaner to be effective at particle abatement, the vacuum cleaner should be designed so that all of the air that is drawn into the machine is passed through the filter, with none of the air leaking past. In addition, because of the density of a HEPA filter, a HEPA vacuum cleaner will need a more powerful motor to provide sufficient cleaning power.

There are essentially two basic styles of HEPA vacuums: canister and upright. HEPA canister vacuums usually have smaller, stronger cases that can roll along and follow behind you as you vacuum carpet, furniture, or the floor. A long hose attached to a HEPA canister vacuum cleaner will help you clean hard to reach places. HEPA canister vacuums also often feature detachable rug beaters that are more powerful when compared to those found on upright HEPA vacuums. When the electric motor powered rug beater on a canister vacuum cleaner stops working, the unit can still be used to clean other surfaces. Overall, for homes with mostly bare floors and sparse rugged areas, canister vacuums can help you move seamlessly from one area to the next without scratching your floors.

On the other hand, upright HEPA vacuums consist of a single unit that may or may not come with an attachment hose to help clean hard to reach areas with specialized vacuum tools. Upright HEPA vacuums may leak dusty air back into your home, and since the rug beater bar is permanently attached to the vacuum's case, once this important component breaks, the entire vacuum will have to be replaced. However, if your home is mostly carpeted, a traditional upright HEPA vacuum may be a better choice, as its beater bar can better churn up dirt and dust embedded below the surface of your carpeting.

In terms of design differences, that are different styles of HEPA canister vacuums available, with the most common being those units with plastic cases utilizing a disposable dust collector bag made of plastic used to catch the dust from your carpet and into the vacuum cleaner. Keep in mind that with these types of models, dusty air may still leak through gaps in the plastic gases and even pass through the exhaust and back into your home environment.

When choosing a HEPA vacuum, also be sure to pay attention to the power of the model, as this is rated by its suction force in inches of water lift and by its air flow (in cfm). Anything with a 90 cfm or above is considered a powerful model and will effectively remove pollutants from your home. Also look to the position of where the HEPA filter is placed. HEPA filters in vacuums can be placed either before or after the motor, and some studies have suggested that a filter after the motor can help catch any fine carbon dust that is generated by the vacuum's motor. Strong seals to prevent leakage are also extremely important in vacuums that the filters after the motor. Nevertheless, whether you choose a canister or upright HEPA vacuum cleaner, rest assured that it can help eliminate dust and dander from your home, and also alleviate your asthma-induced symptoms.

Tips On Getting the Right Vacuum Cleaner for your Needs!

How in the world can a consumer decide what vacuum cleaner to buy with Dirt Devil, Miele, Eureka, Dyson, Electrolux, Kirby and so many more on the market? To make matters even more complicated, each manufacturer has numerous models in the market. We read reviews by almost everyone and it seems that every unit has their champions and complainers. What the heck is going on here?

The truth is that every one of the reviews are absolutely right! Vacuum cleaners, like any other consumer product have an array of features and benefits to meet the needs of a specific part of the market. Those that are unhappy with a specific product usually purchased based on price or advertising alone without considering what they actually needed in a vacuum.

Here's a few things to consider when deciding on the right vacuum cleaner for you and you home.

1. Decide on a vacuum style. There's two basic vacuum cleaner styles, the upright and the canister. The upright has the motor, handle, carpet brush and dirt storage all in 1 unit. The canister is identified as two separate pieces connected together with a hose. The vacuum head, brush and handle are one piece while the suction motor and dirt containment is in the other. Canister vacuum cleaner reviews will focus on the flexibility of design while most upright vacuum cleaner review ill show the simplicity of design.
.
2. Weight. the weight of the vacuum is important if you have kids helping with the housework or it's for people with mobility issues. A vacuum that's to heavy to move about, no matter how well it cleans is essentially worth a lot less.

3. Cleanability or suction power. This is important only to the degree that your home gets dirty. Have a lot of people in your home? Do you have an active lifestyle that beings the neighbors and kids and pets through your home a lot? Then this is critical

4. Exhaust handling. Vacuum cleaners use air suction to pull dirt from your carpets then trap it into a dirt holding bag or bagless container. The exhaust can also throw microscopic dust particles into the air causing allergy and asthma sufferers breathing problems. HEPA filtration systems are not available on many vacuum cleaners to limit this problem. There also are a few units that use water as a filtration system.

5. Bag or bagless design. The last few years we have seen the rise in popularity of the bagless or cyclonic dirt handling systems. Unlike the older bag units, a vacuum cleaner review bagless will focus on the high constant suction capability. This is important for speed of completing the housework. What these bagless vacuum reviews do NOT say however is that the dirt carrying capacity of the containers is usually much less than a bag. This means more stops to empty and clean out the dirt receptacle.

6. Duty Rating. Any kirby vacuum cleaner review will talk about the heavy duty quality of design. The Kirby has been in commercial use for decades and is one of the most trusted and highest quality names in the vacuum cleaner market. What these reviews don't say however is that although the Kirby is a great machine with loads of suction, it's also as heavy as a Volkswagon to push around the carpet. Lugging it up the stairs and around your home may also be a problem. Good Vacuum? You bet. Heavy?. oh yea!

These are just some of the points you should consider when selecting a new vacuum cleaner. Product reviews for vacuum cleaners are great but remember that a customers satisfaction with their prucahse is based on the products abaility to deliver on the consumers expectations. It's very possible that without considering what is important to you, you also can end up being unhappy with a great product for another part of the market.

Know what you need first, then shop for the vacuum cleaner that meets those needs. You have now read the absolute Best Vacuum Customer Review that anyone could expect. Armed with your specific needs, it should now be a lot easier to identify the few vacuums on the market that will meet your specific needs and demands. If however you want to read a few more articles on vacuum cleaners here.

Hepa Vacuum Cleaners And Two Other Leading Gadgets

Cleaning that house or business premises has never been easier now that the options vacuum cleaners continue increasing in different styles and shapes. All the shoppers need to know are the changing trends of these important equipments. The hepa vacuum cleaners that are used to remove animal hair such as pets is very common and much preferred. Many families certainly keep these animals in the houses and even as they are fun their fur can result to health problems such as respiratory.

There are still two other very important vacuum cleaners available including commercial and central types with specific roles they play to make sanitation efforts easy and manageable. The central systems for vacuuming are the latest types that are very useful in the very modern and upscale homes being built today. In order to introduce this kind of system one has to put into consideration how much of cleaning they got to do in their houses everyday but this is very intricately built to run through the walls only to end in a collection chamber normally in the basement or say elsewhere like a garage.

After a couple of months, that cavity or chamber is cleared. This method is better and very convenient in comparison with the normal ones that require the user to keep emptying or changing the bags. Of course the central vacuum cleaners system is ultra-modern and more expensive to install during home renovations than it would be when one is building a new house.

So it is really a perfect systems of getting rid of trash yet the difficulty with its use only happen when one has to ask someone to install it or empty it. The installation of the hoses on an older model of a house walls may be quite difficult or almost impossible because of unlimited spaces. The modern homes on the other hand can easily allow this to be fixed even though not at the time of construction since the walls are thick.

The decision to have the hepa or central vacuuming or the commercial vacuum cleaners is very personal and should be based one's needs that may vary from one person to the other. As long as the selected type delivers the intended uses then it is okay although each of the three options are not only functional but are trendy too meaning they are being preferred in many homes or business premises.

Panasonic Vacuum Cleaners, Lightweight Cleaning Option.

Panasonic is a well known company that mostly specializes in consumer electronics, however it is also well known for its line of Panasonic vacuum cleaners. The same expertise that allows the company to produce excellent consumer electronics has helped it build an excellent line of upright and canister vacuums that will clean any surface in your home or office. In addition they also produce a line of commercial vacuum cleaners at a very reasonable price. Many people feel that Panasonic vacuum cleaners are some of the best vacuums on the market today.
Panasonic vacuum cleaners are known for being light weight and yet have strong suction power. One owner commented that he would love to have an Oreck but considering the price and its lightweight he chose a Panasonic instead to save money. He was totally happy with his decision. Panasonic vacuum cleaners feature many high tech features that are found on many more expensive vacuum cleaners. These include automated adjustments to meet any kind of floor covering. In addition to its dirt sensors which control suction levels Panasonic vacuum cleaners also have nice touches like an automated cord retrieval system.
Panasonic vacuum cleaners upright models feature both bag less and the more traditional bag models. All models have excellent filtration technology that includes micron and HEPA technology. This allows you to not only have a clean house but a healthy one as well. Panasonics canister vacuum cleaners add the versatility of being able to clean under beds, in corners and furniture as well a cleaning common floor surfaces. Panasonic vacuum cleaners are not considered heavy duty cleaners but are designed for light to medium cleaning best suited for an apartment or small house. None the less Panasonic vacuum cleaners are designed to do an excellent job of floor cleaning.
On the downside Panasonic vacuum cleaners are not considered to be very durable. Many of their plastic parts are fairly fragile and break easily. Many consumer reviews speak poorly of parts not fitting together correctly on new models. Probably the most troubling of all is the very poor customer service provided when things do go wrong. The one year warranty apparently does not cover many of the plastic parts. Many consumers complain that they cannot get any parts to fix their vacuums. However there are locations on the Internet that do handle Panasonic vacuum cleaner Parts.
In summary we would only recommend Panasonic vacuum cleaners to people who use them for light cleaning. They are lightweight vacuum cleaners that are easy to use. However due to the customer service problems they must be considered a throw away piece of cleaning equipment. That being when it breaks your best bet is throw it away and look for another vacuum cleaner rather than deal with Panasonics customer service. As a result we can only give Panasonic vacuum cleaners a two star rating.

The Henry Vacuum Cleaner Is A Great Cleaner

The body of the vacuum cleaner was left outside while it was in use due to its large size, the smoke, the horrible odor and the noise. With the assistance of the very convenient hoses that came in the house through the windows where the cleaning was going to be done, these machines operated without one single problem.

There is a change from the vacuums of the past to those of the present day.

The initial model of the Henry vacuum cleaner was very large, noisy, and somewhat difficult to use. This particular model wasn't too well regarded in the market for reasons that are readily apparent. James Sprangler introduced some simple modifications which changed the vacuum cleaner into the cleaning tool that we know today. You will need three things: 1. A box. 2. A pillowcase. 3. A fan.

In vacuum cleaner history, Henry and Sprangler have something in common. Both were unable to continue pursuing the project at hand. In Henry's case, he ended up selling his patent to William Hoover. In turn, Mr. Hoover presented the very first commercial vacuum cleaner. And thus, the "Hoover" was born. The Henry Vacuum cleaner paled in comparison with the updated Hoover design of later years.

The Hoover brand of vacuum cleaner was a runaway success; even today the brand has its command and presence in the market, and Hoover is known as one of the few organizations that deliver on their promise. The Henry vacuum cleaner is finally available.

Although Henry vacuum cleaners started with just one simple design, there are now over a half-dozen Henry models, including cylinder vacuum cleaners and upright vacuum cleaners, as well as centralized vacuums and wet/dry models.
